Brad and Emily Release a Statement, Chris Harrison Talks About the Couple

Brad and Emily, the new happy couple from "The Bachelor", have released a statement to the press. They are not planning on doing the usual post-show interviews.

The statement reads: "At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship.  Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship.  We hope that you can respect our privacy as we return to normalcy and begin our off-screen lives together.”

Let's hope they get off of that bumpy path and can sail smoothly through their relationship here on out.

Chris Harrison took some time today to take part in a conference call about the show and it's outcome!

Chris Harrison says that Brad and Emily are both stubborn people, but he thinks that will work in their favor and now they can fight like hell to keep their relationship together.  He said, "You have two stubborn people who were dealing with it all apart, and now they are together and can have a unified front".  He says he's seen their dynamic shift from Brad having to defend his actions on every Tuesday morning to Emily, to the two of them being like, "it's us against them" when referring to the taboids.

Also, were you wondering if Emily ever did get the final rose?  The show never aired Brad giving Emily the last rose!  Chris says it was a complete producer lapse, and they were shocked that so many fans noticed!  He said he hopes they put that clip up online as a deleted scene because it did happen.  If they do, I will certainly post it!

He said that Brad and Emily's breakup occurred a few weeks after the show was done taping and it just started airing.  Emily was incredibly insecure about Brad's relationship with the other women, in particular, Chantal.  She felt like they seemed like more fun together, and that she and Brad looked awkward.  That may be the case, but Chris says they are absolutely adorable together and completely in love.

Chris Harrison said that a wedding was originally planned for the "After the Final Rose" special.  It went off track once they had been back in the U.S. for a few weeks and Emily realized it would have to be pretty secret from some of her friends and family.  She wants to do the wedding her own way, so I guess that means that if it does work out, we won't be seeing it televised!  Chris said Brad was all about it and wanted to get married right away, but that Emily started to have apprehensions because she is not ready to move Ricki and throw Brad right into the mix right away.

Chris also said that he thinks it really helped having the successful couples on the show to talk to Brad and Emily.  He said that Brad and Emily could especially relate to Jason and Molly because Jason had a similar situation where he has a son to be concerned about.  He and Molly did a long distance relationship for a while.  Hopefully they can take their advice and it helps them out!

Also, another hot topic, Brad's hot temper!  Emily feels as though she worded it badly that night.  She says that he has a temper, but so does she.  Chris says that yes, they have had some awful fights, but it's mostly because they are stubborn and there was never any kind of physical or verbal abuse going on.

Just in case you were wondering, if it doesn't work out for Brad and Emily, he will NOT be back for a third try!  That's a guarantee from Chris Harrison.

I hope to have the full transcript of this interview and the one with Chantal available to post on Wednesday!

Hugs, Kisses & Roses,

Wishing them all the best. They are smart to step back from publicity. You know, people are even attacking Brad for not sending Chantel home and for even having an f2......like they don't get that the whole premise of the show is cruel and the f2's are always devastated and humiliated.......no matter what they are bound to be criticized. This move sure doesn't fit with the theory out there that Emily was publicity hungry does it.

Emily, The show weaves a story to make people watch. They want to leave the audience hanging. We don't see the truth. Brad has to kiss and say the nice things for the show. But the bottom line is he chose you. It was always obvious it was you. The show seems to always keep the person chosen in the background - to keep us guessing. But it's always you that he says I don't want this to end. I don't want to leave you. He is so in love. As much as it sucks seeing him having to be with these women, he had to do it. But he's happy because of you. He chose you. The frustration he has is that you don't believe him. How can he get you to believe him when he put the ring on your finger and asked you to marry him? Take the leap and let yourself love. Let your daughter have the opportunity to have a father's guidance. They grow up so fast and leave for college. Austin is beautiful - wonderful - friendly. Let your walls down, learn to trust, and let the love in. Praying for you all. - P.S. loved your hair on the after the rose show!
