Chris Harrison Talks About 'The Bachelor', Blakeley Talks About Her Elimination
Today we had a special treat! Both rosemaster Chris Harrison and the recently eliminated Blakeley Shea took some time to talk about "The Bachelor".
First up, was Chris Harrison.
He spoke about Ben's shocking elimination of Casey S. after he found out she may still have feelings for her ex-boyfriend Michael. Chris says that he and the show chose to speak to Casey S. because of the "Bentley and Wes situations". They wanted to really make sure she didn't still have a boyfriend, which she didn't.
He said that he really didn't think that she came on to deceive Ben, but rather to try and move on from her ex. Most importantly, Chris said that if Casey said that she didn't have a boyfriend, wasn't still in love with her ex, they never would have gone and talked to Ben, they would have just gone on to the rose ceremony. But, it was actually her decision to go and talk to him.
I asked him if he thought Ben was a little cold towards Casey in telling her to leave, and Chris said yes, and he thought Ben probably regretted his initial reaction in hindsight. He said he thought his reaction had to do with the ambush situation of bringing Casey to talk to him with the cameras and everything.
As for Courtney manipulating Ben, Chris thinks that situation is different, because it's not something from her past, it's actually what she is doing on the show and in her relationship with Ben. He has to choose whether to believe her or the other girls, and we'll have to wait and see what happens this coming week when more women talk to Ben about her.
Chris Harrison did make an interesting comment about Courtney. He said he hopes to see her apologize at "The Women Tell All" or a reunion show. Was that a slip on his part, does Courtney not make it to the end? I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
Another reporter asked Chris about having a person of color as the "Bachelor" or "Bachelorette" and he really didn't have an answer about it because truthfully it's not his decision! However, he thought it would be great and didn't see why it couldn't or shouldn't happen. I think that part of the problem is that they keep recycling people. All of these runners up are people who happened to be caucasian basically, so do we have to wait until a reject is something other than that, or will the show eventually step in, start fresh, and give people what they are asking for? I guess we'll see in the future.
Then Blakeley Shea came in on the call and Chris left.
I had to ask this question, and felt like a jerk for asking it, but TMZ.com (warning: this video is pretty raunchy) posted a video of Blakeley at a "Bachelor" viewing party in Charlotte, NC. It shows her giving a lapdance to a girlfriend of hers apparently. Now, whether this is actually her remains to be seen. It's always hard to tell with these things so let's give her the benefit of the doubt here. When asked about it, she seemed really surprised and said that she didn't know anything about it and said "I have not seen this video." So who knows!
Then, I asked Blakeley about the actual elimination. She said that she was surprised to be sent home and that she "tried to get him to open up and it hurt a little bit." But basically, if he wasn't feeling it, then they are both better off.
So who in the house is right for Ben? Blakeley says Nicki! She thinks they are at similar places in their life and would make a good partner for him.
As for Courtney, she was shocked at the mean things she said about her to the cameras because she really didn't even know her at all and she didn't take the time to get to know her.
But, as far as her dating life goes, she doesn't really have one right now. Blakeley says she is not dating anyone yet.
I'll have much more on these interviews tomorrow when I am able to post the full transcripts!!!
