Here is the full transcript of the conference call interview with Doug.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take part in it this week, but here is the transcript of what he had to say to all of the other reporters this week.  It's really interesting.  He talks about his confrontation with Chris, who is right for Emily, and what it was like to go through his awkward departure.

Question:            So, my first question for you is, you know, you seemed very shocked when you finally realized Emily was sending you home.  What was going through your mind while she was talking and where did you think she was going with her speech?  

 

                Like, did you think she was just mentioning things you two need to work on or maybe you zoned out a little bit because you were thinking about when to kiss her?  

 

Doug Clerget:    Yes, Beth, that's actually a really great question and I appreciate it.  I was sitting - I was thinking to myself, you know, I really probably should have tried kissing her.  I thought she was saying, you know, "hey, Doug, like, you've got to be a little more aggressive in terms of, you know, showing me, you know, you're interested in me." 

 

                And I think, you know, Emily was such a sweetheart throughout the whole thing and just because I'm a single dad, I, you know, I tend to take things a little more slowly and so, I really just wanted to get to know Emily on a personal level and build a good friendship there. 

 

                And so, she was talking to me and I thought she was - I thought the conversation was heading towards, you know, like, you know, come on, give me a kiss and then I really wasn't expecting to be sent home.  I was hoping to get a hometown date and so I was kind of bummed out.  

 

The Truth About Arie and Six become Four on 'The Bachelorette'

There should be just five guys left, but there are six because as you remember, Emily decided to keep them all to get to know them better.  There are no roses on this week’s one-on-one dates, but there is a rose up for grabs on the group date.

 

The first date card was for Arie and it said “Let’s Czech out Prague together.”  Emily shows up for their date at the hotel, picks him up and they took a walk through the city to sightsee.  Arie says that he is definitely falling in love with her!  Emily says that she knows that Arie dated her producer and she is upset that he didn’t talk to her about it.  She is waiting for him to talk to her about it but he’s just not bringing it up!

 

Chris Harrison explains that Arie had a brief relationship with producer Cassie Lambert several years ago.  Cassie told Emily about her past relationship when she saw things getting serious between them.  Cassie interviewed Emily about the subject.  She says that she’s only seen him twice in the past 10 years and doesn’t want Emily associating her with him.  Emily says that she wishes she would have known right off the bat.  Emily says she feels like an idiot because she is the only one who was left in the dark and Cassie tries to assure her it’s not a “thing”.

Here is the full transcript of the conference call interview with Jef!  He talks about this coming week's big revelation that Arie dated a producer who works on the show.  He also describes his feelings of L-O-V-E for Emily!  

Question:            So, historically on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the nice guy or girl doesn’t tend to go all the way.  So, do you think it’s possible for someone who’s nice like you to actually win?

 

Jef Holm:             Well, first of all, I appreciate you thinking I'm nice.  That’s very nice of you.  I think, yes, I definitely think so.  I think, you know, it – yes, The Bachelorette is an interesting thing.  And it takes awhile for, you know, mine and Emily’s relationship to get to the good point, I think, you know, and we started off slowly.  And, you know, we developed a really good friendship at first.  And I think as time goes on, you'll see that friendship turns into, you know, more of – more and more of a romance.  And I definitely think it’s possible for the – for a good guy to go all the way.  Yes.

Jef Calls First Kiss with Emily the Best Kiss of His Life!

Jef Holm spoke to reporters today in a conference call all about his relationship with Emily, and what we can expect to see between them in the upcoming episodes! 

Jef said that his and Emily's relationship took a while to develop because it started as a friendship first.  He told me that it was a strategy to keep Emily guessing and keep her on her toes when it came to his feelings at first.  He said that all of the other guys would jump up and get her drinks and fight for time with her, but he took a more laid back approach and he thinks it worked!

Lots of Rules Broken on this Week's 'The Bachelorette'

This week Emily and her final eight guys traveled to Dubrovnik, Croatia.  Ricki went back home to Charlotte with her babysitter so she’s not here this week.  Emily stopped in to the guys’ hotel to say hello and drop of the date card herself!  She handed it to Travis and it said, “Travis, let’s look for love beyond the walls.”  He was so happy that the date was finally for just him.  Let’s see if there’s more to him than just the egg, ha-ha.

 

He met up with her outside and they went through Old Dubrovnik.  They got to go explore the area.  Travis was once engaged and it didn’t work out…hopefully we’ll get to hear more about what actually happened there.  While they were walking around they stood on the balancing stone, which legend has if you stand on it and take off your shirt or jacket you will be lucky in love.  Travis stood on it, but didn’t take off his shirt which disappointed Emily!  She liked that he could get down and dance to the music played by a street performer.

Sorry for the delay, but here is the full transcript of the conference call interview with Arie!  My portion of the interview is right at the beginning because I was lucky enough to get to ask the first hot questions.

Jennifer Matarese:       Hi, Arie.

 

Arie Luyendyk Jr.:      Hi, how are you?

 

Jennifer Matarese:       Good, how are you?

 

Arie Luyendyk Jr.:      Doing well, doing well.

 

Jennifer Matarese:       So, I was wondering the whole situation with Kalon the other day did you think that he was sincere in his apology to Emily or did you really think that he meant what he said and Emily did the right thing sending him home?

 

Arie Luyendyk Jr.:      I definitely think that Emily did the right thing sending him home and it was interesting to me because Emily really gave him an opportunity to apologize and he never really did.  So, that’s what really surprised me and I think all the guys were very disappointed in Kalon and I do think though, Emily really handled herself in a – in a manner which was unbelievable and that’s why I didn’t step in to – to really help her out.  Because I felt like she had really handled that well. 

Revealing Interview with Arie About Emily and being on 'The Bachelorette'

I spoke to Arie today as part of a conference call interview and he had some very revealing things to say!

First off, he said as far as the situation with Kalon last week, "Emily definitely did the right thing," he added that Kalon never really apologized, and that Emily really handled herself in a way that was great.  He said he really didn't feel the need to tell her about it because he had heard about the comment secondhand from Chris, and Emily handled the situation perfectly.

Bachelor Pad 3 Cast Announced!

"Bachelor Pad" is returning on Monday, July 23 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) with its most controversial cast to date!

15 unforgettable characters from the "Bachelor" franchise are gathering back at the mansion to live together to possibly find a second chance at love and compete for $250,000.

Last season, Michael Stagliano won the money but lost at love - this season he moves into the mansion and will put everything on the line, even his winnings from last season, to find love.

Additionally, for the first time, the show will feature five "Super Fans" - including identical twins Brittany and Erica Taltos who will compete as one participant. 

Each week the contestants will square off in head-to-head challenges to compete for immunity and the opportunity to go on a date with contestants of their choice. The winner of each challenge will then grant immunity to one of his or her dates via the presentation of a rose. At the end of each episode, the contestants will vote amongst themselves - the men will vote off a woman and vice versa -- to determine which cast members will be eliminated from the competition.

LINDZI COX ("The Bachelor" Season 16, Ben Flajnik) 

Lindzi has not been heard from since she was rejected by Ben Flajnik on that fateful day. She was heartbroken and buried herself in work and her passion, horses. But, Lindzi is determined to move on. She does not care for anyone that gossips and is ready to compete for money and love.

Emily Explodes Over 'Baggage' Comment on 'The Bachelorette'

This week Emily and her remaining men traveled to London on her journey to love.  She also brought along little Ricki again and mother and daughter got to take in the sights together.  This is the chance of a lifetime for Ricki too!  What a great experience to travel the world at her young age.

 

Chris Harrison informs the guys that there will be a group date and two one-on-one dates this week.  If you don’t get a rose on your one-on-one you are sent packing.  A date card arrives for Sean and it read, “Love takes no prisoners”.  He is super excited and Jef is very bummed because he still hasn’t had a one-on-one date.

 

Emily and Sean meet up for their date and he learns he’ll be going on a tour of London on their own private double decker bus.  They see Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and St. Paul’s Cathedral.  They have a great time seeing the sights together and taking pictures all over town.  They take a picture in front of Buckingham Palace and kiss!  It was very smooth of Sean to suggest that.

Here is the full transcript of the conference call interview with Charlie and Sean!  I've highlighted my portions of the interview in PURPLE.

Gina Scarpa:       So, my question for you is that when watching the show, it seems really obvious who Emily has gotten close to over the weeks.  She didn't get to spend a lot of time with you, John, Michael, Alejandro, so many people.  So I was wondering if you felt that way when you were there, and if that put a lot of pressure on you.

 

Charlie Grogan: You know what, not really, because I did spend some time with her on the group dates, and obviously they can't show everything that they record, but I did, I had my fair share of time with her, it was just, you know, those guys really pick and choose what they want to show, because obviously the time limit of each episode, but I mean, it's - I mean again, to answer your question, I felt like I spent enough time on the group dates to where I should maybe kind of still be hanging around, but I never really did have that opportunity to have that one-on-one intimate time with her, so maybe that was my downfall with getting eliminated.

 

Gina Scarpa:       And then looking at your elimination this week, do you understand why she sent you home, and do you think that she was a good match for you?

 

Charlie Grogan: You know, it's hard to tell because I really don't know what was going through her mind.  I know that she maybe had some favorites going into that evening.  So again, that's a hard question.  That's something that maybe she could probably answer for you.  

 

But yes, I don't know.  I felt comfortable going into that evening, because it's just the time that I did spend with her, and the conversations we did have.  So yes, it was a shocker to me, getting sent home, because some of the guys that were left, I didn't feel were as suitable for her, than maybe I could have been.  So it was a shock for me, absolutely.

 

Gina Scarpa:       Well, thank you so much.

 

Charlie Grogan: Well, thank you.

Jennifer Matarese:         Hi, Charlie.

 

Charlie Grogan: Hi, Jennifer.

 

Jennifer Matarese:         So I was wondering, you seemed really upset after you guys lost the boat competition, and what was going through your mind at that point, and do you think you like were over-reacting, or do you think, you know, maybe that was appropriate, because you did end up getting sent home?

 

Charlie Grogan: No, you know, I think all of us guys, me, Sean, Travis and Chris, I think we were all upset because we all have this competitive side to us.  I played sports my whole life, and I had never really cried during a loss, you know, growing up, so I think I was more disappointed with myself, because I knew on paper we had the guys beat.  And it was just kind of like a testosterone male thing.  You know, I really don't remember being that upset on the ride home.  I know it was late at night, and it was like a 45-minute drive back to the hotel.  I know I was upset, but I just don't know if I can say I was that upset.
